MEI Sets the Stride in Community Support!

The employees of Motivation Excellence, Inc. (MEI) are truly its most valuable asset – you don’t often find such a large group genuinely caring about others and willing to show it through their actions. Whether it’s collecting Thanksgiving Day food to benefit needy families, putting together Easter Baskets or back-to-school supplies for underprivileged children, or purchasing holiday “angel” gifts for families that would otherwise do without, the MEI team comes together in a committed effort to support its community. 

At various times throughout the year, individual employees are involved in events that benefit specific charities, such as the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Kidney Foundation Walk, and the American Heart Association. Each year they can count on their fellow MEI employees to open their hearts and pocketbooks in support. 

And when it hits home, MEI employees step up and make a difference. When a member of the MEI family was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, the cause became personal. The diagnosis inspired two employees to sign up for the physically demanding, two-day/26.2 mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. As soon as they announced their intention to participate in the walk, generous donations from their coworkers and the company began to pour in. A bake sale event they organized to raise donations triggered a flurry of baking efforts by fellow MEI employees, and the resulting spread of cookies, cakes and breads boosted their funds considerably. 

According to one of the MEI walkers, “The amount of encouragement and moral support we got from our MEI coworkers really helped to keep us motivated through the long months of training. It made the difference that kept us inspired to successfully finish the Avon Walk.” 

Another coworker and her 12-year-old daughter volunteered to be “tent angels” during the Avon event. They greeted tired walkers at the end of the first day and assisted with getting their tents and gear set up for a good night’s rest before the walk resumed the following day.
